Adrieve is born from two elements: my grandmother Adriana and “rêve” (dream, in French). But in this case, the dream is not something romantic. “Rêve” is a way to describe what dementia does: it shifts memories, alters the present, and creates a different reality — as if my grandmother were living in a continuous dream made of fragments of the past and moments that repeat themselves.
My grandmother is the person who taught me crochet, knitting, and sewing. As a child, I used to sew clothes for my stuffed animals, and she would guide me. It is thanks to her that today I understand the value of craftsmanship, patience, and attention to detail.
Adrieve is born from this intertwining of what she taught me and what the illness is now transforming. This is my way of keeping her with me, of turning memory into something tangible. She taught me that hands can tell stories. Even if memories may fade, what she taught me can live on through what I create.
Adrieve is dedicated to her. And to all those bonds that not even dementia can erase.
My name is Maria Vittoria, and I am the founder of Adrieve. I create fully handmade bags that can be customized in every detail. Each model begins with crochet and takes shape stitch by stitch, with the same care I was taught from a young age. I study biomedical engineering, and Adrieve was born during my university years. Creating became my personal space: a way to slow down, focus on each stitch, free my creativity, and transform time into something tangible.
I have been sewing since I was a child, alongside my grandmother. With Adrieve, I combined that handmade heritage with who I am today, turning a passion into a real project.
The values that guide Adrieve are memory, attention to detail, and craftsmanship. I believe in the slow process of making by hand, in originality, and in the possibility of standing out through unique accessories designed to be personal before they are beautiful.
Adrieve is my way of bringing together precision and creativity, technique and emotion. It is the place where everything I have learned takes shape.
